A little bit about me…
Originally from sunny Florida, I found myself moving to my soon-to-be husband’s hometown in Texas where I knew very few people but was welcomed warmly as any good southern city welcomes their own back into town.
I found myself pondering what am I going to do with myself in this new city. How can I keep busy, have a career in fashion in a smaller city and find a way to meet new people? I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to work for myself. I immediately become a sales rep for a women’s line of clothing and have been doing so for 7 years. I love working with women and fashion and found myself with a great, loyal and fun clientele.
Enter J. Hilburn…I was recruited to sell Dallas based J. Hilburn and at first, I said “Sure, why not?” I am already selling one line and I might as well sell another. I fell in love with J. Hilburn and the company. Selling to men was the complete opposite of selling to women – I love that I get to do both! Men are fast decision-makers often times they just want you to take the creative control and order for them (which is so fun and easy!). Selling custom menswear is a unique and new experience and has opened up and strengthened me and my business. Women are bombarded with parties, shows, store openings etc. etc.– the man is not and he is ready to be engaged!
Men usually hate to shop so I make my client’s life easier by visiting their home or office and taking their measurements and showing them all of my gorgeous, high quality fabric swatches and lookbooks. I don’t have to have a “show” or a party or unpack any boxes. I can sell 365 days a year and often do from the convenience of my home office while my sweet daughter is napping.
