Happy Wednesday Smarties. After the holiday and the snow break, I finally feel like I am getting back into a schedule. One of the things that my family has been looking forward too is “How I Became a Pirate” at Children’s Theatre. It kicks off this weekend and in conjunction with the Library they are hosting a day of special events on Friday. This is a must do/see. From Thomas the Train to “The Emperor’s New Clothes” there is plenty to choose from this weekend. Get out and enjoy!

The exhibit tells the powerful grassroots story of the Rev. J.A. De Laine and the other brave citizens of Clarendon County, S.C., who brought the first lawsuit in America challenging racial segregation in public schools. Combined with four other national lawsuits, the result was the 1954 Supreme Court decision Brown v. Board of Education, which ruled that racial segregation of schools was unconstitutional, subsequently initiating massive change in race relations in the U.S. Cost is $5-$6; $17 per family; under 6 admitted free.
