Every summer, the same thing happens to me. My kids’ schedules rule my life and as the summer progresses, my workout schedule falls apart. I hate that. This summer was the worst in history. I think it’s the ages of my kids – 10th, 7th and two in 5th. My driving schedule for kids’ mandatory activities started at 7am and didn’t finish until 8:30pm, pretty much from July on. I used to say “I’ll NEVER put my daughter in an uber…” I’m actually thinking I might re-evaluate that statement. I know, worst mom ever.
Here’s my new fall driving schedule, don’t you wish you were me?!
Look a little closer…there’s a reason this schedule is taped to the door to my bar😳
Anyheeew, with back-to-school in full swing, so is my workout regimen. I’m a religious 5 day/week worker-outer during the school year. But by 4th of July, I fall off the wagon completely. This Monday was d-day and it was like starting all over again. But I did it every day this week and I feel completely re-energized. What struck me most is how much I missed Flywheel.
For those of you not familiar…
Flywheel is a super high-energy, fast-paced cycling cardio extravaganza. You will leave a sweaty, hot mess, but you’ll be on endorphin overload. Trust me.
I’ve been doing Flywheel since it first hit the QC three years ago. I had never been a cyclist, or super competitive in my workouts or the first to the latest workout scene. I just liked a good HARD workout. One that makes you feel a little whoozy when you leave and one that pushes you harder than you can push yourself. And that’s exactly what Flywheel was and still is for me.
I love Flywheel because I burn 750 calories on average in just 45 minutes. This is the best cardio workout in the QC, hands down.
I missed Flywheel more than I realized. I missed the cold, dark room. I missed the loud music that drowns everything else out around you. I missed the instructors that motivate me and take me to places I thought I was never capable of. I missed the Bliss Lemon Sage soap in the bathroom. I missed the super fab leggings {must get a new pair for new motivation, right?!}. I missed how I feel like Bridget Jones every time I get off the bike. I even missed how sore my butt bones are after the first workout.
So Flywheel, I’m back in the saddle again. And it feels so good, well, it’s just like riding a bike. Once you get into Flywheel, you never forget the feeling. And you thirst for it. You should give Flywheel a whirl, you’ll be forever hooked. I know I am.
