No, I’m not talking about that junk… or that trunk, I’m talking about the trunk in your attic full of sweaters & t-shirts from 1983, or maybe the trunk in your closet that has those platform shoes that you were waiting to come back in style, but you forgot where they were, and now they are no longer in style again. Anyway, the reason that I ask, is that we are here to help you win back your space. We are the Junk Champions. We specialize in assisting families get rid of unwanted household items & finding a home for them. We help you defeat your clutter. Our motto is : Removal + Recycle + Restore = Victory
Who are we?
We are the same family that brought 2 family oriented franchises to Charlotte, My Gym Children’s Fitness Center and Mosquito Authority, has decided to start their own small business model. We love our franchises but have always wanted to do something on our own.
So why call Junk champions instead of just dropping off to a Donation Center?
That’s a great question, if you have everything boxed & bagged and ready to be dropped off, it’s definitely more cost effective for you to take it yourself. Where we come in is, we can definitely pick it up for you & find the items a new home but our visit does come with a fee. Where we really differ is, if you have an area of the house that needs to be cleared, we can come in box, bag & remove for you. Our main objective is to save you time and eliminate the hassle.
What do we do with the items?
We try to recycle and reuse whatever we can. Some items will be donated, some items will be given away to those in need and some items will be sold. Unusable items that can’t be repurposed will still go to the dump.
How did we get started with removing junk?
In the fall of 2014 a customer of ours asked if we could haul away a few things from their shed that they wouldn’t be using. A few things turned into a full day’s worth of work for 2 of our employees. Since our mosquito business is seasonal, we are looking for opportunities to keep our awesome team employed year round. Good help is hard enough to find, when you do find it, you don’t want to let it go.
There is a really good chance that you haven’t heard of our brand up until this point. We haven’t really done very much marketing and have only grown by referrals and word of mouth. At the end of the day, I don’t believe that there is a better way to organically grow a business than to have satisfied customers sing your praises and tell their friends.
How much does it cost?
A lot of jobs tend to vary based on size of items and amount of junk. We do provide FREE estimates. Most of the jobs that we quote in person end up costing our customers less than they do over the phone. A good example: A customer phoned in to have a “large” couch removed. We quoted $129 over the phone but ended up charging $99 as it fit on our pick-up with room to spare. Their idea of “large” and our idea of it were slightly different and it saved them $30.
– To have 1 of our coaches come to you with a full size pick-up truck, prices start at $79. 2 coaches and a pick up start at $99.
– Large 8 foot trailer starts at $129. When you need little bit more than just the pickup.
– Extra Large 14 foot trailer, starts at $199. Ideal for larger furniture.
– Dump trailer starts at $249. For unusable items that will be getting disposed of and going directly to the dump: construction debris, yard waste, etc.
