This weekend is supposed to be GORGEOUS and what better way to spend a Sunday than a day at YMCA’s Camp Thunderbird right in our backyard! Camp Thunderbird is hosting an Open House from 1-4p, there will be fun for the entire family!
Pack your picnic lunch and make a day of it. The Sunday Funday will include pony rides, inflatables, kayak and canoe rides, zipline, archery and riflery, facepainting, ‘smores and giveaways! This is the perfect way to explore Camp Thunderbird, resident and day camps, and you can register right there. Psst, we heard there will be a discount if you register on Sunday!

YMCA Camp Thunderbird is where you can unplug and grow. It is beautifully located on the shores of Lake Wylie in South Carolina only a half hour from Charlotte, NC. Since 1936, Camp Thunderbird has provided thousands of kids and young adults an unforgettable experience that includes adventure, fun and friendship! Camp Thunderbird offers both a day camp and a resident camp. Day campers also have the opportunity to stay overnight on Friday, during specific sessions, which helps younger campers make the transition to resident camp. New this year, Camp Thunderbird is also offering a Leadership In Training program.
YMCA Camp Thunderbird’s 1.7 miles of pristine shoreline enhance the nationally-recognized water programs at Camp Thunderbird, including: wakeboarding, water skiing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, water slides and “the Blob.” They offer 28 land activities including: horseback riding, skating, high and low ropes courses, sports and crafts. This resident camp provides boys and girls an exciting, safe experience that they will remember for a lifetime.
