If you’ve been paying attention to ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center lately, you probably know we’re celebrating a big anniversary—ten years of Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte bringing stories to life together! We’ve been celebrating all year with monthly Super Saturday events, social media games and contests, media appearances and more. Every Smarty in Charlotte knows ImaginOn is awesome.
But do you know the story of how this one-of-a-kind partnership came to be?
What? You don’t?
Then it’s a good thing we’ve brought the story to life on the ImaginOn Storyline! This interactive timeline documents ImaginOn’s history, from the birth of the idea through construction, grand opening and beyond…right up to this minute. Ten seasons of productions onstage. Many thousands of storytimes. Exhibits large and small. And literally millions of people from all over the world who’ve come through ImaginOn’s doors, each with their own story. Some of those are on the Storyline already, but too many are still missing.
Please tell us yours!
We know ImaginOn is the site of countless special moments – children’s first experiences with live theatre, first Library cards, young actors conquering stage fright, interactions with a real live author or actor, original productions in Studio-I, and so much more. We know ImaginOn matters. We hope you’ll share a story of a special moment that demonstrates how it matters for you.
Our story is incomplete without yours. Share it here.
