Starting today through March 30, 25 cents from each McDonald’s Shamrock Shake sold in the Charlotte area will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte (RMHC). You know what that means? You can FINALLY give in to the kids’ pleas for that yummy green shake and know you are doing something good for an amazing organization.
This cult favorite is a seasonal thing for McDonald’s – it appears only once a year around the St. Patrick’s Day holiday. The famously green treat is made with McDonald’s vanilla reduced-fat ice cream, Shamrock Shake syrup and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It was first introduced in 1970, and in 1974, donations from Shamrock Shake sales helped establish the first Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. That spirit of giving continues today!
Smarty Charlotte {hearts} the RMHC. Its goal is to offer hope, support and love to families struggling with children’s illness. A family with a sick child can stay at the RMHC, which makes communicating with the child’s medical team easier and keeps the families closer. Its impact on families, the children, and our community is immeasurable. We’re lucky to have a such an amazing RMH in the QC, too!
So scoot on over to McDonald’s this month and grab one of those green shakes – 25 cents adds up QUICK. We can really make a difference with this one!
