Is there anything cuter than watching little dancers prance around in tutus and mini ballet shoes? Is there anything more rewarding as a dance teacher than to see that mini dancer display a giant smile as she does her first little turn with arms held above her head?
We are so lucky that each and every day, we get to do this at Daisy Dance! We are a ballet, tap and creative dance program for preschoolers. Preschoolers are our passion and our forte! We understand that this is most likely the child’s first experience with dance so we make our classes lots of fun. We even have our cartoon dancer Daisy who is featured in class cue cards and weekly downloadable coloring sheets. Our customized Daisy Dance music is tailored specifically for preschool learning. As much silly fun as we have in our classes, our dancers still learn the basics: ballet technique and terminology, basic tap steps, rhythms and patterns, balance and coordination and performance techniques. We understand that in order to create that life-long love of movement we need to have fun first and teach the skills second.
Our end of the year or session recitals are designed to create an environment where preschoolers feel comfortable and can succeed. They are a low-pressure, confidence building event for our dancers. Each school or location has a separate recital. Our recitals are short, less formal and therefore, less overwhelming to our young dancers. There’s plenty of time for stages and costumes when they get older . . . why not let them shine without all that pressure (and those extra expenses) when they are little?!
We’ve had such great success for the past 6 years with our in-school programs; we are excited to now offer classes open to the community! These classes will be offered as a 12-week session, starting the week of Feb 3rd and ending the week April 28th
(no class the week of April 14th).
