There truly is something for everyone at Carowinds! Now through July 14th, the Return to Pirate Island event transforms Kookaburra Bay into the world of a pirate’s life tailored for young children’s activities from 11am until 4pm each day. So much fun with an awesome interactive magic show that held everyone’s attention.
The Foam Zone was a mess of soapy fun that delighted the little ones, and a super interactive pirate ship play area. While we were there, 107.9 the LINK was there with the Kelly McKay Show. They were super friendly, played in the foam and engaged with the families. (Love those LINK personalities! And Kelly was sweet enough to give my girls and I some refreshments.)
This year is the 40th anniversary of Carowinds’ grand opening. By the way, did you know that when you purchase an admission, you get entrance to 2 parks? When I was growing up, they were separate admission fees, so this was a nice surprise for me. You gain entrance to Boomerang Bay and the Amusement Park, all for one price, now that is a Smarty Steal in my book! With the hot and humid weather, you will definitely want your swimsuit on hand to cool off after hours of thrill-seeking rides. What a great way to spend the day!
Return to Pirate Island is a must for anyone looking for something fun to do with little ones. They will love it, and you will be their hero. We are halfway through summer Smarties, I know the kids are gettin’ antsy, so get out to Carowinds and enjoy Return to Pirate Island and all that Carowinds has to offer so close to home!
