Join us for a day of celebration, fun, and fitness at the inaugural RunJenRun 5k! Proceeds will benefit the GoJenGo Foundation and, ultimately, local women and families who need support during their fight against breast cancer! The race will take place at the 5k course at McAlpine course! Serious runners, recreational joggers, walkers are all WELCOME! There will be lots of fun festivities, a one mile fun run for kids, and prizes for top finishers. Come take a stand….no make that a run……for breast cancer survivors in our area!

Schiele Museum of Natural History
More than a fossil show, this event spotlights all sorts of natural treasures from the earth including fossils, rocks, minerals and the ancient stories that these items tell. See museum and fossil club displays and purchase interesting specimens from vendors. Mine for gemstones like garnets, emeralds and amethyst. Kids can meet animated prehistoric characters, see a full-sized T. Rex, make a fossil fish print, search for tiny fossils from the Carolina Coast, and much more.
The True Story of the Three Little Pigs

Three pigs build houses; the one who builds his out of brick doesn’t get eaten by the Big Bad Wolf and lives to tell the tale. But is that the whole truth or just porcine propaganda? That’s the question raised in this brilliant parody of the Three Little Pigs that follows the Big Bad Wolf on trial for his purported deeds. And with his own version of the story, the audience becomes the jury and helps decide: guilty or not guilty! Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s Tarradiddle Players perform in this hilarious rock musical, based on Jon Scieszka’s wildly popular book. For ages 5+. Cost is $20.
Underground Railroad Adventure

Learn about the struggles, triumphs, and characters of the underground railroad. Go on a scavenger hunt around the plantation grounds to see if you can find all that you would need to escape slavery via the underground railroad.
