Smarties, we’re thrilled to introduce you to TWO Smarty Moms this week, the women behind the fab children’s boutique serving Lake Norman and the Greater Charlotte Area, Elliott Gray. Tell us about Elliott Gray, Clothing for Children and how you got started.
Elliott Gray came about because both Kate and I are from very southern towns along the MS river. Kate is from Memphis, TN and myself from Vicksburg, MS. After moving into the LKN area and having young children, we began talking about all the beautifully hand smocked clothing we grew up with and how hard it is to find in this particular area. We really wanted to bring that great classic, traditional style to the families here in the area. Elliott Gray is all about beautiful, fun clothing for kids that is of durable construction and yet lends itself to a little whimsy that goes along with childhood.
What lines do you carry and what sizes?
We are currently carrying Funtasia Too, Little English, and Pixie Lily in clothing. For gifts we carry Aden and Anais and Smile for the Birdie. Our current sizes are from newborn up to a size 6 for both girls and boys. However, in the spring we will be going up to a size 12 for both girls and boys and picking up Claire and Charlie, Anavini, and VBee’s Boys. This last line is amazing!! It is just for boys and is out of North Carolina. It will be perfect for Easter, weddings, and all the other special occasions in the Spring.
What is your vision for Elliott Gray?
We see Elliott Gray as a stand alone store in about two years carrying all the most popular lines and outfitting all the kids in the area! We also want to have a ‘traveling boutique’. This is the same idea as an ice cream truck that could go into neighborhoods around the city and set up for business for a day and then move on. It would be very chic and lovely inside our vehicle and cater to both parents and kids. We think this is an innovative approach to retail and are really excited about this option! Our long term goal would be to go into production ourselves and actually create the clothing we know and love!

Tell us about Elliott Gray, Clothing for Children and how you got started.
Elliott Gray fills the niche of simple, traditional, and quality children’s clothing for the Lake Norman area. We got started by talking after yoga class and both saying that there are not any traditional children’s clothing stores in the LKN area.
What is your vision for Elliott Gray?
I would like to see the business grow and expand its lines and carry clothes for teens also.
What is your favorite piece of kids gear?
I love Little English clothing.
Now for the fun stuff! Celebrity Crush?
Jim James of My Morning Jacket or Adam Levine of Maroon 5

Can’t wait to check out Elliott Gray. We are new to the LKN area and as a Tennessee gal myself, I miss the fun and traditional children’s clothes – especially for boys. 🙂
