What are some of your top gift picks for your children this year?
Since both of my girls have December birthdays, Molly the 13th, Grace the 8th, they only get one gift from us on their birthday and Christmas and they are a collectible. Molly gets a Wee Forest Folk, adorable ceramic mice, and Grace gets a Limoges box. I figured this way they will have a wonderful collection when they grow up. They both love their collections and look forward to opening them.
Tell us some of your family’s Christmas traditions.
Christmas Eve is a big celebration in my family. Every year my mom makes deviled eggs to snack on while we open gifts. We open presents from family on Christmas Eve, Christmas morning belongs to Santa. Santa’s gifts are wrapped in white tissue paper, so if there was a forgotten gift from the night before, we would know! The white tissue reminds us of the snow at the North Pole. This is what I thought when I was young, not sure what my girls think of it, but it is what they know.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I love a good NASCAR race, especially from the infield!
Who is your celebrity crush?
I have a girl crush on Kelly Ripa. I love her fashion style, sense of humor, hair, and she appears to be a “wonder mom”. I would love to meet her. Her daughter was at pony finals in Kentucky with a good friend of mine and her daughter. I seriously thought about making the drive to Kentucky to take the chance of meeting her, and I promise I am not crazy!
Best book you’ve read lately?
I love to read, I wish I had more time for it, carpool line is just not long enough! This summer I read The Forgotten Garden and absolutely loved it!
Favorite movie of all time?
I am not a big movie goer, so I guess I can say one of my favorites is E.T. and Gone With The Wind, oops, that was two. But how could you not just love Miss Scarlet!
Minivan or suv?
I swore I would never drive a mini van…So I never bought a mini van, I leased one. Leased one and when the lease was up, I leased another. I really liked those push button doors! This past summer the second lease was up and I bought an SUV.
What is your favorite phone app?
Pandora is great for when I am running. I need new, fresh music to mix it up and keep me going!
What is your favorite CSP article?
I find myself immersed in Jen Pagani’s articles. I met Jen a few years ago and have run on the Go Jen Go team the past two years. What a powerful amazing person, actually her entire family is just incredible. She is a true inspiration in every way. I am not sure that I could be as strong and positive as she is. I strive to be more like her everyday. If you have not read her articles, find some time, and then thank God for each blessing you have, be thankful for her insight and the opportunity to get to know a true warrior.
Finish this sentence: I could not live without my…
Children. (As Molly is telling me what to type, she knows me so well!) But it is true, my girls mean the word to me. They have made me a better person and I love who I am because of them. From a materialistic standpoint, I would say my tweezers. I pluck my brows daily, I tried waxing, but the OCD won’t let the stray hairs go, so I pluck.
