Carolinas Thanksgiving Day Parade

Don’t miss the 4th largest Thanksgiving Parade’s in the US! A tradition since 1947, this is one of the largest get-togethers of Carolinians every year. Former Mayor Harvey Gantt is grand marshal. The parade is telecast regionally on WBTV, Channel 3 (CBS). The parade route begins at Tryon at 9th, turns left onto 3rd and ends at 3rd and Davidson.
Turkey Trot 8k, 5k and walk
November 26, 1 mile fun run begins at 8:30 am; 8k run begins at 9 am; 5k walk begins at 9 am; Tot Trot begins at 10 am

“Cool Stuff” at Discovery Place

Why do things do the things they do? Find out at Cool Stuff, the first of Discovery Place’s new exhibitions. Launch objects into the air, lie on a bed of nails, or crush a garbage can. It’s an eccentric world of physical phenomena and it’s all in your hands.
Cool Stuff will offer families the opportunity to discover the beauty and strangeness of physics; look at the world in new ways; become aware of new scientific concepts and find out what’s cool about science.
