Jen B epitomizes the perfect balance between working mom and raising a family. I truly enjoy living my old career through her. We met in 1996 when we both worked at a super fun ad agency along with 30 or so other “Jen’s.” Jen B. was always so incredibly dedicated to her job (me not so much!) and she climbed the ladder quickly. As you can imagine, advertising truly sucks the life out of you. So at that point in my life, I couldn’t imagine that a career in advertising would be conducive to raising a family, nor did I know anyone in our career path that successfully did that. Well, Jen defies all odds. Because she is a brilliant advertising queen as well as the best mommy in Charlotte. Her career is just cranking – although I’d like to see her blow it all off so we just focus on Charlotte Smarty Pants (Note to Jen’s boss… don’t worry she is not leaving!) Jen approaches all aspects of her life in the same, ever-so-detailed, incredibly organized way and she is so creative and did I tell you that she’s an artist on the side? How is one person gifted with all of these things, I just don’t know. So I defer to her for everything. I love hearing about her job and we constantly hash out our struggles between “is it easier to be a working mom or stay-at-home mom?” I think we both can agree that if we could merge the greatest aspects of both together, then we’d have the perfect life. I can say with conviction that if Jen B researched it and recommends it, then I’m going with it, hands down. She is a dear friend and she just rocks!
