Colonel Tom Vossler, US Army Ret. and preeminent military historian, will discuss the Battle of Antietam, the bloodiest single day of the Civil War, and the role North Carolina troops played in the struggle. Vossler will also sign copies of his book, A Field Guide to Antietam: Experiencing the Battlefield through Its History, Places, and People.
Vossler holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania Military College and a Master’s degree from Georgia State University. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the U.S. Army War College. He is a Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide.
