Hey smarties, I’m Christy! This is my first blog. . . And it’s kind of cool that it’s about music!
Music has always been a special part of my life and still continues to be. It’s like food for my soul.
It started with my parents, particularly my dad. He loved to sing, play the guitar and the harmonica — and yes, often all at the same time. After dinner most nights — especially on the weekends — we would sit around the table and sing while dad strummed his guitar. Other times, there was a record spinning or an 8-track playing (showing my age here).
Fun Fact! I played the piano for 7 years growing up. I had a piano teacher who insisted I learn to read music because I could play by ear. I learned so much about the composition of music, the timing, and how the notes came together to form wonderful melodies. It gave me an even greater appreciation for music and those that create the wonderful ear candy we soak in daily.
So, this Thanksgiving, as you plan all of your meticulous details for the big meal. . . .maybe this year you’ll think about the music that plays in the background. I’ve created a special playlist meant to create a sense of happiness, thankfulness and gratitude. You can follow me on Spotify at Christy Quincannon, or click on this link:
Here you’ll find my “Thankfultude” playlist: There’s a little something for everyone!
Enjoy!
