We are so excited to introduce you to this week’s Smarty DAD (we love Smarty Dads!!), Dr. Gaurav Bharti. Dr. Bharti is a board certified plastic surgeon and partner at Hunstad Kortesis Plastic Surgery + MedSpa. Tell us what got you interested in plastic surgery.
Plastic surgery offers me the ability to make people happy on a daily basis. I feel that it is a specialty focused on patient well being and overall happiness.
What’s the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is that I am able to use my artistic vision and surgical skill to transform my patients and allow them to achieve their goals.
What’s the most challenging?
I always face the pressure of performing elective procedures on people who are well. It is an awesome responsibility and privilege that I take seriously.
A big topic for moms is the Mommy Makeover. Tell us more about it – what’s involved? What is the recovery like after the surgery (or surgeries)? What types of results can women expect?
A mommy makeover is a variety of procedures that a mother can undergo to help regain her body back after the process of childbirth. This could include things like a breast augmentation, breast lift/reduction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), liposuction, and vaginal rejuvenation. Each mother is unique and therefore will require a different set of procedures to achieve her goals. The recovery of each procedure is slightly different. Typically patients are walking the same day of surgery. They will need to refrain from high intensity training or aerobic activity for 4 weeks. Mothers can expect dramatic changes and often can feel and look better that they did prior to childbirth.
This month is your 1 year anniversary with HK and we heard you’ve become a Partner of the HK practice! What do you love about being a part of HK in particular?
The staff and partners are like family. We see things the same way. We are all focused on ensuring our patients are happy and achieve their goals.
What would you tell a woman (or man!) who’s on the fence about plastic surgery?
Take your time. This is an elective procedure. Move forward once your comfortable and educated about the procedure your interested in.
What makes you an awesome plastic surgeon?
I thoroughly enjoy being a plastic surgeon. I honestly want my patients to have the best possible result even more than they do!
