Summer is almost here. Parents can give their children a reason to put down cell phones, step away from computers, and turn off TVs with one of the many sport camps offered at Camp Cannon.
At Camp Cannon, children ages 4 to 18 can find a sports camp to suit their individual interests. New offerings this summer include:
Field Hockey Skills for ages 5-10. In Field Hockey Skills, players learn the basics of field hockey, an up-and-coming sport in the southeast.
Fishing Foray for ages 9-14. In Fishing Foray, campers not only learn fishing techniques but also learn about conservation, types of NC fish, and fishing etiquette.
Traditional skill camps include: Baseball for ages 6-13, Basketball for ages 7-12, Football for ages 9-13, Lacrosse: Coed for ages 6-10, Soccer for ages 7-12, TaeKwonDo for ages 6-12, Tennis for ages 6-12, Volleyball: Beginners and Intermediates for ages 8-11 and 12-14, and Wrestling for ages 5-12.
For young athletes age 4-7 who want to try out a few different sports, check out our Super Sports Sampler. Campers focus on learning the basics of a variety of different games such as tennis, baseball, and hockey. The camp ends with everyone’s favorite activity – a cooling run through the field sprinklers.
For those players who are looking to enhance their advanced skills, there is Elite Soccer Skills for ages 13-18. This camp is for the serious soccer player who wants to prepare for the upcoming school or club session. Players learn advanced soccer skills and tactical concepts from Cannon’s varsity soccer coach, and do various strength and conditioning exercises throughout the week.
Additionally, for girls with at least two years of softball experience who are looking to enhance their skills, there is Softball Skills: Advanced. In this camp taught by championship-winning coaches, players focus on advanced skill development, including specific instruction for different positions and daily live pitching and scrimmaging.
