Etsy Finds

Oh how I love Etsy, let me count the ways. 

If I was going to adopt a new pet, I would name it ‘Etsy’ in homage to my favorite place to shop on the interwebs.  I hate going to a real store and prefer online shopping over an ‘in person’ experience any day of the week.  I’m weird like that.

Etsy is simply divine.  The shopowners and artisans I have worked with have all been super helpful, very nice, and take pride in their work.  I’ve never had a bad shopping experience on Etsy.  

Etsy is my ‘go to’ for that person that is hard to buy for (my grandfather, my daddy, pretty much all men in my family…).    It’s also a great place for home decor, jewelry, and have I mentioned gifts, gifts, gifts, galore!

HOME DECOR
Zourra Designs (pillows)
I needed pillows to coordinate with orange outdoor furniture. And, I didn’t want to spend a bunch of time riding around looking at fabric.  Have I mentioned that I don’t like the ‘in person’ version of shopping? Etsy to the rescue!   Of course, the pillow fabric (and rug) were chosen by my friend,  Smarty Margaret! 

Nora Quinonez (pillows)
My couch was in desperate need of new pillow styling.  I got the navy pillows with white grosgain from Nora.  

Chic Decor Pillows (pillows)
I thought I was about to come to the end of Etsy searching for something that could tie it all together on my couch.  And then, boom, I found Chic Decor Pillows.  I got the Ikat-ish pillows on my couch from her.  

JEWELS
Erin Keys
I need a tassel necklace in my life, stat. Who could be sad wearing one of these beaded beauties with the tassel?

I really need that mixed metals chevron necklace.

Diament Designs
I have the vintage name bracelet in gold. I got it 2.5 years ago and it hasn’t tarnished or changed colors. It is $16, people!

Gud Bling (get it? good bling…)
I need one of these rope bracelets and any one of the tribal-inspired-tassel-rope-gem necklaces.

Bare and Me
I’m thinking of getting my mother one of the ‘druzy pendant necklaces’. So pretty.

Penny Welch is the best!  I ordered pillowcases for a slumber party keepsake gift.  They are amazing! And the gals can use the pillowcase anytime they spend the night at a friend’s house!  Penny is so sweet, responsive, and super fast. 

She makes so many personalized items such as beach towels, clothing…you name it.  Perfect for sleepaway camp, baby gifts, tween gifts, birthday, Christmas, etc. etc.  She has so many fabrics to choose from and samples of items she has already done in case you don’t want to spend hours hemming and hawing over a fabric.

Anamnesis Prints
Cool, vintage map prints (yes, they have every state!) for that person in your family who is so hard to buy for…

Boondocks Boutique
Hand painted, custom signs… My personal fave is “God is great. Beer is good. People are crazy.” I have that quote framed and hanging in our house. I’m so classy.

Laura Amiss
Her illustrations will cheer you up and will make you want to return to that place you traveled to long ago. I’m thinking of getting this Vatican print framed as a gift for my husband to hang in his office.

ART
Everybody’s ‘on’ to the Etsy art scene. I wonder once you are highlighted in Elle Decor, do you jack up your prices? Truth be told, I did not care for any of the artists featured in that column; they just didn’t speak to me. Art is so subjective, right? Below are the Etsy artists that made my admiration list.

The animal prints are so fun. If I had a nursery to decorate, these would be in them. Those days are long gone…

Angela Moulton
Her bird paintings are simply divine.  Angela Moulton expertly captures each bird’s quirky personality. We have some wall space saved for 4 of these. We have talked to her about painting birds that we see in our backyard such as chickadee, robin, blue jay, cardinal, wren or bluebird. She will do custom pieces in custom sizes and colors. Sweet!

Dawn Derman
Watercolor art is so pretty. If you like watercolor art, go to Etsy and type in “watercolor orignal art” and you will get lost for a long time.

Flat Flower Designs
These are so exquisite! Instead of the standard bottle of wine and lasagna, why not give these for your next housewarming gift to that new neighbor?

I have no idea where I would put these ‘dictionary page’ art pieces in my house however they are so whimsical and interesting!
