Merry, Merry: M & L Mercantile
This is another fabulous locally-owned business, Smarties! Early in 2020, looking for a creative way to pass the time during quarantine, Tamsin Brown Skeels – a wife and mother of two girls living in Ballantyne – began crocheting. She started off by making winter hats with her daughter Anna-Cate and quickly moved on to learning amigurumi (the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed dolls and animals). She soon began making gifts for family, friends, and neighbors.
Through much trial and error, practice, and perseverance, Tamsin has grown as a crochet artist. With the help and support of her family and friends, she has created Mouse & Lamb Mercantile, LLC. After selling a variety of warm and cozy hats, fashionable and functional market bags, and adorable amigurumi critters locally, for more than a year, she is about to launch an Etsy shop. M&L Mercantile will allow customers to choose colors and a variety of other options for each of the items they order. Tamsin’s love of crochet and sense of whimsy has allowed her to hone her craft and bring joy to all who own her creations. Beautiful hats, multi-use market bags, and critters cute as can be; her work sparks happiness in everyone owns a piece.
