YMCA Camp Thunderbird is a co-ed overnight camp for kids (ages 6-16). Serving the community since 1936, Thunderbird boasts a rich history of giving generations of campers from all over the world memories to last a lifetime.
Two miles of shoreline on Lake Wylie provides an amazing backdrop for life-changing experiences. Just 30 minutes from Charlotte, the camp’s ultimate water playground helps kids cultivate individual talents and skills like independence, self-discipline, and empathy. Life at YMCA Camp Thunderbird is packed with tradition and activity which all center around building friendships and confidence.
