#GivingTuesdayCLT, powered by SHARE Charlotte, is Charlotte’s local response to today’s “Giving Tuesday” global movement. Now in its eighth year, #GivingTuesdayCLT is an unprecedented collaboration of hundreds of Charlotte nonprofits as well as corporations, local businesses, community organizations and individuals coming together through good. #GivingTuesdayCLT has influenced more than $31 million in value given to Charlotte nonprofits and inspired over 29K new donors.
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and our world. Created in 2012 as a simple idea – a day that encourages people to come together and do good – this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity each year.
#GivingTuesdayCLT is an opportunity to come together to take action for our community. Generosity looks different for everyone and we invite our neighbors to give their time, talent, dollars, network, or influence to their favorite (or a new!) local nonprofit. Together, we can create a community of hope and inclusivity.
Visit givingtuesdayclt.org to learn about a variety of ways you can give:
– Give Money: Visitors can make a financial gift to an organization that is meaningful to them. The first 300 donors who give $50 or more to their favorite nonprofit today through givingtuesdayclt.org will have their donation generously matched by Lowe’s in the form of one $50 electronic gift card!
– Give Time : Visitors can choose from hundreds of ways to give their time either virtually or in-person.
– Drop off a frozen meal for Foster Village Charlotte to help new foster families
– Practice job interviewer (virtual) for Center for Community Transitions
– Create nesting boxes for the North Carolina Wildlife Federation
– Host a haircare drive for Pretty Ponytails which helps boost young girls self esteem
– Call a senior citizen to check up on them so they don’t feel isolated with the Shepherd’s Center
