Classes began on August 30 at Charlotte Ballet, and it’s back-to-school mode in the studios. Dancers ages 3 and up returned to the Center for Dance and Charlotte Country Day School after the summer break, and they are eager to start their training! New and returning students, along with the faculty and staff, are ready for a great year.

It’s not too late to register for the 2021/2022 Academy school year! Charlotte Ballet is excited to offer in-person classes, with safety protocols in place, for students in a range of ages and with different levels of ability. Classes include the highest quality of instruction in ballet, modern, jazz technique, and more. Academy classes are held in two locations in Charlotte for your convenience – the Center for Dance in Uptown or at our South Charlotte campus at Charlotte Country Day School. Sign up your young dancer for an after-school activity that will teach them creative expression, self-confidence, and strength!
Meet the Faculty
Charlotte Ballet employs world-class faculty to instruct their students. From dancers training for their professional dance careers to those interested in simply experiencing all the joys and benefits of dancing, there is an instructor for every type of dancer. This year, Charlotte Ballet brought on Johanna Butow, Associate Director dedicated to the Lower School, to give special attention to the younger students. All faculty members strive to cultivate a nurturing and structured environment that encourages individuality and an appreciation for the art of dance. Your young dancer will blossom and learn invaluable lessons under their instruction!
Adult Drop-In Classes
Adult Drop-In classes are back again with even more options! It’s a great time of year for parents to try a new activity too – while getting a workout! No previous dance experience is required, and there’s no commitment. Join Charlotte Ballet at the Center for Dance for Beginning Ballet, Power Dance, Intermediate Ballet, and Intermediate/Advanced Tap each week. Their wonderful instructors are friendly and welcoming of all skill levels. Give it a try!
