This is our BIG week here in Smartyland – our annual holiday toy gift guide. We divvy ’em up by ages and our Smarty bloggers get to work helping Santa figure out who gets what. Today Smarty Carroll dishes on what the 3-5 age group is wishin’ for.
Toysmith’s Easy Catch Ball & Glove:
This was a gift to my twin boys on their third birthdays and as a former sportswriter I wondered why the heck I hadn’t thought of this before. These soft balls and Velcro-lined gloves help little hands learn how to play catch without clobbering each other (and their siblings) or breaking objects around the house.
Melissa & Doug Dust! Sweep! Mop!
This one is on our list for Santa this year and he might even need to bring two. If you’ve ever had kids fighting over a full-sized kitchen broom, you know why! These are safer and fun and if you want your kids to practice becoming great cleaners along the way, why stand in their way?!
Prextex Realistic Looking Dinosaurs:
My oldest was a late bloomer with dinosaurs but man are we making up for lost time. These little dinosaur figures are the perfect gift for any budding paleontologist, or really any kid in this age group!
Melissa & Doug Scoop and Serve Ice Cream Counter:
What kid doesn’t love ice cream or pretending to serve it for friends and family? This is a fixture in our house and one of my favorite gifts to bring to birthday parties for other children.
LIKEE See and Spell Matching Letter Puzzles:
An ad for this one jumped off the screen to me when I was scrolling on Facebook one day. It’s on Santa’s list for our household, to feed the appetite of a 4-year-old just itching to learn how to spell words. And maybe his younger brothers will have some fun learning along with him.
