Grab your popcorn and load up the fam and head up to Charlotte Motor Speedway for a drive-in movie! Our Smarty friends at the Speedway are hosting drive-in movies on select Wednesdays (rain or shine) with proceeds benefiting Speedway Children’s Charities. Read on!
Movies will be featured on the Speedway’s 16,000-square-foot HDTV. Families can tune in from the comfort and safety of their vehicles through their FM radio. Tune into 105.1 for audio. Gates open at 5p and the movie is scheduled to begin 7p. Enter at Gate 26 (Charlotte Motor Speedway).
Admission is $30 per car and its passengers with up to 10/vehicle. Restroom facilities will be available. Otherwise, guests will be asked to remain in their vehicles to follow the latest best practices for social distancing. Coolers are welcome.
Smarty Caris took her family to the last feature and she has some Smarty Tips for everyone:
1) Bring dinner and lots of snacks. You can’t ever have enough snacks for movie nights!
2) Bring a cooler for adult beverages (but make sure you have a DD:-)
3) Bring chairs for all to sit in just in case they need a change of scenery from Row 3.
4) Bring blankets and pillows to turn Row 3 into a cozy viewing area. She saw some people bring blow-up mattresses.
5) There are 2 bathrooms: one inside and one Porta-Potty
6) Gates open at 5p, they got there at 5:30 and they were in Row 2.
7) Because of the limited # of tickets for sale, getting in and out was easy.
