Summary: The Quarry at Carrigan Farms, LLC is a natural, spring fed, body of water where swimming is enjoyed by many at company picnics, private events and specific open-to-the public times. Located in Mooresville, NC, The Quarry was mined in the late 1960’s for its granite stone, which was used in the construction of interstate 77. Once a spring was discovered, the quarry filled with water and is now a favorite spot for those wanting to cool off in the summer. At select times, it is open for individuals, as open swim and at other times, it is available for private reservations only.

Summary: Beautiful, historic Stowe Park will set the scene for a new music series in Downtown Belmont.  The Downtown Belmont Development Association (DBDA) will sponsor five concerts, beginning with Jazz in the Park on Saturday May 6, following the daytime Art Crawl from 12 – 4 pm.  The remaining concerts will be held every other Friday, starting May 19 with the final concert on June 30 being moved to Main Street for the Independence Celebration and fireworks display.

Summary: This collaborative effort between the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is a 102,000-square-foot facility recently ranked by Livability.com as the No. 1 children’s library in the United States.
