Smarties, it’s our favorite time of year – it’s spring recital time for all of our tiny dancers! Since my girls were little {and before they were dancers}, we have always made the Jami Masters School of Dance (JMSD) Friday night Company Showcase a Girls Night Out Plym tradition!
This year, my daughter will be in her 2nd year in JMSD Jr Company and I can’t wait to see her dance! She has been taking dance at JMSD since she was four years old, she’s now 14. She has loved every minute of it and so have we! We have had so much fun watching her grow into a beautiful young dancer, and we can thank Jami and her talented team for that. Let’s not forget, Smarty Charlotte voted JMSD “Best Dance Studio” in the 2016 Smarty Awards, very well-deserving!
The theme for this year’s Showcase is Broadway and it’s going to be spectacular! The Senior Solos are one of my favorite things to watch in the Friday Showcase, aside from my own daughter’s dances of course:-) Each solo brings me to tears – it makes me think of how that beautiful young lady is just setting out to start her career, wherever her path is taking her. It makes me think of her mom and how sad and proud she must feel in one fell swoop. Each solo is choreographed with love just for each dancer, to show off her special talents. They are the BEST! All of the JMSD Jr Company/Company dancers and instructors have put a full year of blood (literally on pointe), sweat, tears and joy into their dances for a full year. It’s time for all of them to shine!
So grab the girlies in your fam and head over to Queens University Dana Auditorium this Friday night! It will be a night to remember for sure!
