I have to admit, water is not my favorite drink. I know I’m supposed to drink 7+ glasses of water a day, and I’m embarrassed to say that I drink….ohhh, I don’t know…whatever I accidentally swallow when I’m rinsing my mouth out after brushing my teeth. Yep, that sounds about right.
Thankfully, I do really like LaCroix flavored waters, especially grapefruit and cherry/lime. However, I know I need to drink more non-carbonated drinks, so I’ve been playing around with infusing my waters. Figuring my liver would thank me, I decided to take my water tasting adventure to another level and try some of the “detox” waters and juices that have been all the rage. While my favorite tea is a “detox” tea (not to mention it’s deeeelicious!), I decided to try out some other “detox” drinks.
Thanks to Pinterest, I had quite a few to try, and let me tell you there were some hits and a lot of misses, but thankfully, there were a lot more hits that I will be making again and again. So give your liver a little break with some of my favorites!! Keep a couple of things in mind…always serve these ICE COLD, and while there are some fancy shmancy ($$$$) infusible water bottles, a good ole mason jar works great! Now, if the thought of biting into a piece of muddled fruit or mint leaf while drinking shkeeves you out, run over to Home Goods – I was there last week and saw a bunch of them around $5 – $10 each, and the $10 ones were more like pitcher sized.
I must say, I found the holy grail of detox waters here. This website breaks each one down as to what that specific drink is good for (skin, weight loss, fat flush, digestion etc…) While I didn’t try all of them (there are like 50), of the six I tried on this particular site, I would make all but one again – not too shabby for a non-water drinker like myself.
Here are a few of my favorites! Cheers and blessings Xoxo!
Belly Slimming Detox. Ok, not gonna lie, this was NOT one of my favorites at first sip. BUT, after muddling the ingredients then adding water and ice, I started to crave it!!! Sooo refreshing!
Watermelon Mint and Lemon Cucumber. *** Update – For the watermelon and mint, I decided to just put the watermelon and mint through my juicer and pour that over ice….YUMMMA!
