By Guest Blogger, Hope Griggs, owner of Hopeful Nannies
My dream has always been to own and operate a business that helps children and families. After spending many years as a nanny and talking with moms about their needs, the lack of childcare options in the city, and their frustrations with the large online corporations (and the astonishing turnover rate), I had just the solution. Finally in 2012 I made my dream a reality and opened Hopeful Nannies, LLC. My hope for the Hopeful Nannies was to provide families with a childcare service that was local and reliable, and that is just what we have done. I want families to have the peace of mind that they will receive the best childcare imaginable, without having to stress out or do any of the work.

Hopeful Nannies places full-time, part-time, temporary and summer nannies with families, and has a complete babysitting service, which was launched in November 2013.
The process is simple; after signing up, I meet with families in their homes to find out exactly what they want in a nanny. We will then send you a qualified, screened nanny (that will match your family) to interview. We will send you nannies until you find your perfect match. We provide families with each nanny’s resume, proof of background check and proof of any other qualifications and/or certificates pertaining to providing exceptional care for your family.
My goal is not to be just another “placement agency,” but rather a nanny community, to provide an interaction and comfort level that families would never receive from a large national site like care.com. I spend a great deal of time getting to know our nannies and sitters, and I really want this to show through our community interaction and involvement.
I set up events and trainings for our nannies that benefit families, as well. Next month Pat’s Place is holding a class for us, through which our nannies and sitters will receive training through the Darkness to Light program. Childcare trainings like Darkness to Light are so critical in the success of a qualified nanny, and I love to make these events fun for our staff. Also, we’ll organize fun summer play-dates when we have several nannies working in the same area on any given day. We also provide current events for our nannies, sitters, and families on our Facebook page, as well as post fun craft ideas, upcoming events, activities for children around Charlotte, and important information for new and expecting mothers.
These are just a handful of the benefits that Hopeful Nannies offers families, with new and exciting events popping up all the time. To see a full list of what is included in our placements, visit hopefulnannies.com.
Also Hopeful Nannies has just launched pet-sitting, so you can now receive great care for your “fur-babies,” as well!
