It’s that time of the year, the dog days of summer are turning into cooler, crisper mornings and nights. Time to put away some of the summer clothes and bring out those chunky sweaters, knee-high boots and everything comfy in-between. As I anxiously await the cooler weather, I realized I need a refresh of my maternity wardrobe! Expecting baby number two and heading into the point of waddling, I want to look good and stylish. Here are some key pieces that I’ve found to be a must-have for the upcoming fall season.
Oh, you wonderful piece of stretch material. This is a staple in any pregger’s wardrobe. Pair it with a sweater or tunic – they go with everything. Furthermore, they can enhance your outfit, as they come in a variety of styles and colors. For fall, check out these leggings in Cranberry and even these patterned leggings from Jessica Simpson, both available at Destination Maternity. I loved wearing my leggings pre and post pregnancy, too – they can be fashionable and oh-so comfy!
These are a staple in any wardrobe. When you have a good pair of jeans, you just feel good. I really love Gap’s selection of maternity jeans. From good ‘ole blue jeans, to a variety of colors and cuts, they are by far the most comfortable jeans out there. I’ve always favored the bootcut, but any style works. They also have two belly panels to choose from, full coverage or the more narrow band – which ever you find more comfortable.
Like a pumpkin and latte, fall and sweaters go hand-in-hand. I found these two sweaters from A Pea In the Pod collection at Destination Maternity and cannot wait for them to get delivered to my doorstep! Pair these with jeans or leggings and knee-high boots and you’re set.
Pair them with tights and knee-high or ankle-high boots (depending on your level of pregnancy swelling, of course!) and dresses are an easy-peasey way to look put together and fashionable. This fall’s selection at Pickles & Ice Cream doesn’t disappoint. With a variety of fall colors and patterns, it was difficult to just choose a couple to feature.
Tanks, tees, v-necks, long-sleeved – anything with the side ruching is so comfortable and perfect for any preggers wardrobe! I love the basic tees from Target. Liz Lange has a great line of clothes, from the basics to work-wear, but I adore the long-sleeve side-ruched tops. They are perfect for the weekends and layering and come in a variety of colors.
