Be among the first to see Sid the Science Kid’s first feature-length movie. Sid the Science Kid: The Movie comes to Discovery Place for one day only as part of the N.C. Science Festival. The day will include multiple screenings of Sid the Science Kid: The Movie and giveaways.
From The Jim Henson Company, Sid the Science Kid: The Movie is a fast-paced, science-filled adventure featuring the voice of special guest Christopher Lloyd. Sid and his friend win a contest that allows them to embark on an adventure in The Super Ultimate Science Museum before the grand opening. They encounter the eccentric Dr. Bonabodon (Lloyd) and his robot tour guides of the future, one of which goes haywire, creating problems for Sid’s crew! And, be on the lookout for a T-Rex…

The educational program will meet monthly, at sunset, in the Nature Center with a “virtual sky” regardless of weather. If skies are clear we’ll head outside after dark to use McDowell’s 8-inch telescope to observe the moon, planets, and beyond. Registration required.

Now come watch the CLTRG Bedazzlers as they take on the Five 40 Roller Girls in their first game of the season. Doors at the Grady Cole Center open at 5:30 p.m. Stadium seating and a few seats off the track for adults who want to be extra close. Standing room only when sold-out. Flat track roller derby is an all-female, hard-hitting, full contact sport. Fun for the whole family!
