Tell us how Your Nanny 911 was born.
I have always wanted to own my own business, but I had so many different passions I wasn’t sure what path I wanted to take. I vividly remember exactly when I had my Aha moment. I was driving home from work and I began to think about how there was really no name for my job. I had been hired as a regular nanny, but had a very special job assignment. I was literally on-call everyday from 7 am until 7 pm. It was a great job, I loved the work and realized the importance of an on-call nanny, but I wanted there to be some type of structure to it. So, I came up with the idea of Your Nanny 911. I was the nanny that was always there, the one used for emergencies when the kiddos were sick, or mom and dad couldn’t get off of work on time. I was their emergency button.
How is Your Nanny 911 different from other nanny services?
We offer a wide variety of care services and the lowest custom search fee in the Charlotte area. But our absolute biggest differentiator is helping families find on-call, back-up and short term care.

Let’s shift gears and let our readers learn a little bit about you…
Favorite childhood family vacation?
Disney World! It was totally amazing and unforgettable. I think I may have thought it was all real.
Favorite place you have lived (besides Charlotte)?
Has to be in Anchorage, Alaska. My dad was transferred there when I was around 10, and I got to live an experience of a lifetime. I now wish I would have done so much more!
What is something you don’t know how to do but want to learn and why?
I don’t know how to sew or crochet and I would love to learn. I have some pretty crafty friends and they are constantly schooling me on all the cute stuff they make.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I guess it would be my love for international business and fashion.
What place do you most want to visit and why?
I would love to visit Brazil. Being that my family is from Venezuela, I have had the chance to visit some beautiful beaches, but I have heard Brazil’s beaches are just truly amazing.
What was the last book you read?
Honestly, the last book I read was “How to be a big sister!” (Elmo)… Seriously though, I haven’t picked up a good book since my daughter was born. I need to get back on it.
Favorite current song and favorite song of all-time?
Current favorite song is Second Chance by Rend Collective and I guess my all time favorite song would have to be “ironic” by Alanis Morissette. Don’t laugh ☺
Favorite family activity?
Going on walks and basically anything that has to do with being outdoors.
Favorite kids movie?
Lion King and most recently the Lorax.
Favorite kid friendly restaurant?
Chick-fil-A ☺
If you wrote a parenting manual, the title would be?
It’s Really Okay, They Don’t Break That Easy
Behavioral trait you hope your daughter doesn’t inherit from you.
I guess it would have to be my slight OCD when it comes to cleaning. But a secret part of me really wants her to have it 😉
Funniest thing your daughter has ever said or done?
She can’t really talk yet, but one funny thing she did do/say was to point at my neighbor and say “Hi doggie.” It was pretty funny given there were absolutely no dogs around.
Favorite thing about Charlotte?
All of the parks and hidden delicious restaurants.
Best kept secret in Charlotte (besides Your Nanny 911)?
Oh man! You beat me to the punch. Okay, I don’t know if it’s a secret, but I do love and enjoy all of the family-owned bakeries and restaurants.
Guilty pleasure?
Right now, since I’m super pregnant, I would say anything chocolate is where it’s at.
Celebrity crush?
As mushy as this sounds, my husband! He’s a total celebrity. ☺
Favorite hobby?
When I get a chance, I like to go walking or jogging. Also, if having “me time” at Starbucks counts, that might be my favorite.
If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
For everyone to find love and understanding. I feel like those two things would change the dynamic of our world.
