Mark your calendars, Smarties, it’s Camp Afternoon/Night week all next week with our Smarty friends at YMCA’s Camp Harrison!
You will find Camp Harrison’s sleep-over camp just 90 minutes from Charlotte in the NC mountains in a sleepy little town called Boomer, NC. There are over 2,000-acres of woods, streams, trails, and a lake for your kids ages 6-16 to experience a mountain adventure. Camp Harrison has customized many tracks to make sure that there is something for everyone.
Last year was my first year of sleep-away camp and all four of mine got to experience Camp Harrison. My two 8- and 10-year-old girls were in the Dude Ranch Track last summer and they were in heaven! They are begging to go back this year for two weeks! My 6-year-old boys did the Traditional Camp Track that is jam-packed filled with sports, ropes courses, water activities and more. My little monkeys even got a badge for their advanced and fearless ropes course skills. I went as Camp Mom and had the best time ever. I had my own camp experience and bonded with my two other Camp Moms, so much that all three of us are signed up to be Camp Moms again this summer! We have Camp Harrison in our blood!
Every program at Camp Harrison has a purpose and is founded on the Christian principles of the YMCA. It is not only a place for kids to have fun but it is also a place for them to grow in spirit, mind, and body.

Doors Open at 2:30pm. Viewing starts at 3pm featuring the movie “Courageous”. Filled with action-packed police drama, COURAGEOUS is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the movie making ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Riveted moviegoers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children. The first 25 camp-aged children to RSVP for this night will receive free popcorn! Family-friendly afternoon to begin with a viewing of our NEW camp video that was filmed during Summer 2012. Grab a friend and come check it out in person! Families with children aged 6-16 are welcome to join us!

YMCA Camp Harrison is known for offering a mountain experience where counselors facilitate self-respect, the learning of new skills, growth in faith and the building of meaningful relationships. Join them for a Camp Night! Their directors will introduce you to Camp Harrison, answer any questions you might have, tell you about what is new for 2013, and show the new camp video.
Smarty Alert: Every camper that comes will be entered to win a FREE WEEK OF CAMP! Returning campers are urged to come and bring a friend, special incentives will be available for those who bring a friend that is new to camp. The first 50 campers to arrive will receive a prize automatically! Pizza and drinks will be served. All camp-age children will also receive a complimentary game card from Sports Connection! Families with children aged 6-16 are welcome to come!
