Smarties, we need to rally our social media forces for budding local Charlotte tween artist, Zoe Fisher. Zoe found out this week that she is a finalist in the Vineyard Vines “Design a Tie for Dad” Contest. If she gets enough votes (the tie with the most votes on fb wins), her tie will be produced – how cool is that? The problem is the competition is TOUGH and they already have a competitive advantage – one tie has nearly 20,000 votes.
You know how much CSP {hearts} Shep & Ian with Vineyard Vines and all things local, especially the young community, so we’re going to rise to the occasion. Bring. It. On. “Start of a Dad’s Day” tie with 19,783 votes, we’re after Y-O-U (although we love your bacon & eggs design too, we just want to support our local ‘lil Smarty Pants:-)
Zoe’s “Fun in the Sun” design, in my opinion, is THE one and here’s why. Zoe is a true aspiring artist. Her whimsical artwork is unique and epitomizes all things Vineyard Vines – with the precious hand-drawn crab, fish, sunglasses and palm trees tied in with the VV whale, it screams “I’m on vacation!!” and what dad doesn’t want to always feel like he’s on vacay? My vote is for Zoe, I’m sure your vote will be too.
I asked Zoe to introduce herself to Smarty Charlotte and tell us what inspired her with her design. I know Zoe’s parents, Todd & Elizabeth Fisher, are so proud. Here’s Zoe. I could eat her up – so adorable!
Hi, I’m Zoë! I am almost 13 years old and I am a rising eighth grader at Carmel Middle School. One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is draw and shop! About a month ago, our family took a trip to SouthPark Mall and decided to walk into the Vineyard Vines store. My Mom picked up an entry form to a contest Vineyard Vines holds every year. The point of the contest is to create a tie for your Dad that stands out from all the others. The winner gets their drawing made into a real Vineyard Vines tie that will be available for purchase in the store!
For my tie, I made a cartoon collage of things I might see in the summer. I also incorporated things that Vineyard Vines might have put on their own ties. I added the Vineyard Vines whale logo, a sun chair, and an umbrella that were all common on some of their ties. I also added drawings that reminded me of summer. The tie I entered was one of ten finalists nationwide!
Unfortunately, this has become a popularity contest. I am down by approximately seventeen thousand (17,000) votes and rising by the minute. I need you and your friends help get me to the top!
