Two years ago I lost 25 lbs. with Weight Watchers. I’m a big fan of Weight Watchers, but that’s a discussion for another day. By changing my diet and increasing my exercise routine (running 12-16 miles a week) I have been able to keep the weight off (plus or minus a few pounds.) But no matter what I lost, I just couldn’t lose the bulge around my waistline. It’s enough to drive a girl crazy. That is when I discovered Cool Sculpting.
Cool Sculpting is a non-invasive procedure that freezes the fat in your abdomen and flanks; both of which I needed help with since diet and exercise weren’t doing the trick. Once crystallized, the fat cells die and are naturally eliminated from your body.
I went to an event at Charlotte Skin and Laser and actually saw the Cool Sculpting procedure in action on a girl that was getting her abdomen treated. The procedure was quite simple. They put a “gel” pad on the area to be treated then connect the “suction machine” to that area. The girl being treated said the first 10 minutes were definitely uncomfortable. Then you feel nothing and sit there for an hour while you can read, text, or catch up on Words with Friends. So after a consultation with Dr. Rostan at Charlotte Skin and Laser, I thought I would give Cool Sculpting a try. That was in January.
The day of my appointment, I went it with excitement written all over my face. After I got settled in, the procedure was exactly as the other girl described it. The cool gel pad, the vacuum, and then the uncomfortable 10 minutes. For the remaining 50 minutes of the procedure I sat and read a book. When my time was up, the machine was removed. My frozen fat sat there like a lump of butter on my belly. Nice. The good news is that it was massaged out and then my treatment was done. The whole process was pretty simple.
Over the next few days the area treated was numb, but that slowly went away over time. The next week I had my flanks done. That was a piece of cake, it was not uncomfortable at all and again I got to read my book. I knew both procedures would take up 3-4 months to show results, but it would be during bikini season so I waited patiently.
Now it is June, do I have good results to share? Yes! I think my “middle” is still there, but definitely better. I have seen the most change in my flank area. I asked a few friends about what they thought and they have all said that they can tell a difference, especially in my flank area as well. If you know my friends, you know that these girls will not pull any punches. The will tell you like it is.
So would I recommend Cool Sculpting? Yes, I would. But I would also suggest that you get a consultation from Dr. Rostan at Charlotte Skin and Laser (she’s great by the way) to explore all the non-invasive treatments for body slimming. I was amazed by all the options available. Aside from a few pounds, what do you have lose?

How much did it cost? What about just for the tummy?
This is Jen. I think it’s $1,200-ish per session. BUT call in advance and ask – don’t quote me on that!! So if you did just your tummy, meaning lower abdomen, it would be around that price. Sometimes people do an upper and a lower abdomen, and I think that would be x2, but again, I’m not 100% sure. Flanks is a separate region. It’s all based on what results you’re after – some people are more specific in what they want to target. Best advice – call and schedule a consult.
One more thing, there is also a new procedure called Liposonix:

I’ve heard this has even better results, but I couldn’t tell you how or why!
