Forget burnt toast in bed, bring me Eggs Benedict and a mimosa(s)!
Where can you go to nosh like a Queen in Charlotte?
So glad you asked,
I can’t even talk about Cafe Monte without drooling. The Eggs Benedict are life altering. Nothing can describe the creamy, buttery sauce over the perfectly poached egg. Must try. Must.
Causal dining, southern fare, and fine flavors. A favorite amongst Charlotte mommies in the “know”. So lovely, so Charlotte! We {heart} the fresh and fun Dilworth location. What more could you ask for? A bloody mary? They make one of the best in town.
No place in Charlotte does brunch like Upstream. The buffet style brunch is kicked-up with tiny breakfast “tapas” to choose from and cooked just for you. In addition, their incredible food stations are fresh, unique, and beautiful. So insanely Smarty! Rows of seafood so fresh it almost smiles at you. Shrimp and Grits that melt in your mouth. Catch a reservation if you can, this place is “the place” for a formal brunch treat.
This place is weird and quirky and fabulous. Zada Janes is outstandingly odd. The food is different. For example they offer things like fried eggs placed on a black bean cake with pork sausage. Uh, yum! While you wait for your table you can play a game of shuffle board while watching the funky vibe of Elizabeth pass by. This “jeans and t-shirt” kind of a place offers what some consider the best eggs in town. If you’re an urban mommy, this is your brunch spot.
If you want to go “all out” this Mother’s Day, look no further. Join The Ritz Carlton for their “Mother’s Day Holiday Tea”! Warm scones, traditional teas, and spectacular sweets are only a small portion of what this infamous hotel has in store for you. Reservations required. Luxury and relaxation, guaranteed.
Want to make it a truly incredible day? Attend the afternoon tea with live entertainment in the main lobby at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge. Traditional teas and loads of yummy treats will be served. Book a spa treatment and call it a day!
Happy Mother’s Day Smarties! It comes once a year, so soak it up!

Nice write up. Being a Plaza Midwood resident, I know Zada Jane’s would be upset to learn they moved to Elizabeth!!! Hahaha – it’s a midwood spot through and through.
