Can you believe summer is only two weeks away?! What better way to kick it off than to enjoy FREE or SUPER CHEAP movies?! Lord knows you’ll need a little something extra to get kids and parents through the summer, especially on a rainy day or when you’re just not up for a pool outing!

Movies in the Park in Huntersville
Radiant Life Fellowship Church presents Movies in the Park at North Mecklenburg Park in Huntersville. Free movies, popcorn and drinks. The park opens at 6pm and the movies start at dusk.

Movies in the Park in Harrisburg
This event is hosted by University City Fellowship in partnership with Harrisburg Parks and Recreation. It is a free, family-friendly event. The event is first-come, first-serve. It will be held at Harrisburg Park, located at 191 Sims Parkway. Please feel free to bring your own chair or blanket. NO alcohol or pets.

Dinner and Movie at Carolina Place
Carolina Place Mall will host this movie series and will include exclusive discounts at CP restaurants. Movies will be shown in the courtyard outside of the south entrance of the mall, directly beside REI. A special 23-foot inflatable movie screen and surround sound system will replicate the true movie theater experience and families are encouraged to bring blankets to create a comfortable seating area.
The event kicks off each week at 7:30p with special entertainment and vendors in the courtyard. Movie pre-shows will begin approximately 20 minutes prior to dusk with each movie starting as the sun sets.

The Town of Matthews presents it’s summer concert series. All concert and pre-movie activities begin at 7p. Movies begin at 8:30p/dusk. NO pets.

Movies in the Park @ Ballantyne has become a summer time tradition and is hosted by Next Level Church. This event includes free movies, popcorn, bottled water, door prizes and face-painting. Located in the heart of Ballantyne at Ballantyne Corporate Park.

Free Movies at Carolina Cinemas/CrownPoint Stadium 12

Regal Theatres Regal Summer Movie Express – this is the $1 movie schedule!
Regal Theatres has hosted a Free Family Film Festival in theatres across the country since 1991 and will continue this year at a price of $1. The festival lasts 9 weeks. Selected G & PG movies start at 10AM each Tuesday and Wednesday (and some Thursdays) during the festival. First-come, first-served and seating is limited to theater capacity, so make sure you get there early.
Cost is $1, all movies start at 10a.

Any news from Charlotte Symphony? Last year it was called “Movies Under The Star at Symphony Park” but I can’t find anything for this year. Wondering if they decided not to do it this year??
