Has anyone noticed that mothers-to-be have really upped their game when it comes to decorating their baby’s first nursery? On facebook, I’ve recently seen some absolutely to die for fabulously designed nurseries that are beyond hootchie cootchie and straight out of Elle Decor but with a bun-in-the-oven twist.
Thank goodness I’m done with all of that because my little ones’ nurseries would not have held a candle to what I’ve seen friends do lately. I’ve noticed nursery designs using very mod paint colors (pink, yellow, green – be gone!) and more “evergreen” designs that can see a newborn from baby to tween.
Gone are the days of painting murals that have to be painted over when the baby enters the Big Girl Room or Big Boy Room phase. The practical gal in me always wondered what people were thinking when they painted a huge mural in their baby’s nursery only to have to paint over it when the kid is upgrading to the Big Girl/Boy Room.
When it was time to add some dimension to my son’s nursery, I went with RoomMates Peel and Stick Wall Decals. We hung an outer space mural from the ceiling and affixed outer space wall decals to the wall. He loves learning the planets and looking at the decals and mural. We also mixed in some of the glow in the dark stars on the ceiling.
Whether you want to do a monogram, or your son is into Spider Man (but you don’t want to wallpaper the room in Spider Man) or your tween needs dry erase or chalk decals or photo frames…RoomMates Wall Decals has it!
This is an inexpensive way to allow your child’s room to invoke their personality (let’s face it, princess is not forever!) without having to re-do the room every other year. Everybody wins!

My nephew absolutely loved his Elmo from there! http://www.roommatesdecor.com/walldecals/elmo-giant-wall-sticker.aspx
I plan on getting something similar for his next birthday, too.
