Brought to you exclusively by Charlotte Smarty Pants and scoopcharlotte.com, a special day at The Mint Museum Uptown to celebrate spring and National Women’s History Month.
WHO: You and as many friends as you want.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 23rd. 10am to 6pm (normal hours of operation).
WHAT: (click the links below to read more at the Mint’s website)
-$2 off your Admission (normally $10 for for non-members; $8 for seniors 65+).
-10% off a Family Membership (tax deductible $100 for 2 adults/up to 4 children).
-10% off at the Mint Museum Shop.
-(Children under 4 are admitted free in case you & your ladies don’t have nannies ♥).
WHERE: The new Mint Museum Uptown. If you have not yet been, this is the perfect day to grab some girls and go. These discounts are usually reserved for those who are members, and membership is rarely, rarely discounted. The new space is breath-taking and beautiful, and the current Contemporary Exhibition on loan from Bank Of America will be departing soon (early April).
HOW: Just check in with the front desk and let them know you are there to enjoy the Ladies Day. You can choose to tour on your own or take the cell-phone tour. Parking is free in front of the Museum (although hard to find) and also available in the Duke Energy Center garage on Stonewall across from The Observer (small sign says Levine Center for the Arts). You may have your parking ticket validated at the Museum front desk for a discount.
LUNCH: Try the new, much-fêted restaurant Halcyon while you are there. (If it’s for lunch, make reservations!). Airy, lively and delish. If you take the Mint up on their membership discount and join, you will automatically get 10% off your meal at Halcyon when you show your new membership card.

if you haven't been to the new Mint, check it out. It is beautiful and makes for such a lovely time. The children's gallery area is FABULOUS!!! My children (ages 5 & 7) have been three times since January and continue to ask when they can go back. Lots of fun stuff to do in this special area plus "art backpacks" which you can take through the exhibits and which hold activities in the packs to do with your child around the themes of the works. Such fun! I think that the Mint is a wonderful family excursion! We even bought a family membership.
