Smarties, it’s officially golf week here in Charlotte as the Practice Rounds and Pro-Am started today at the Quail Hollow Championship. We girly-girls like to get on the course too and what better way to get out there then to raise $ for a good cause? The Avon Foundation and PGA TOUR Wives Association are excited to bring the 2nd annual Walk the Course Against Domestic Violence to the Quail Hollow Championship TOMORROW!
CSP is once again proud and honored to partner with the Avon Foundation and the PGA TOUR Wives Association to help make a difference in the lives of thousands of people in North Carolina who are affected by this tragic and senseless act. Walk the Course Against Domestic Violence is a non-competitive, family-friendly event that will raise critical funds and awareness to help end the cycle of domestic violence in North Carolina. Join the CSP team to walk 18 holes (5 miles) and you’ll be sure to enjoy the views on one of North Carolina’s finest golf courses at Quail Hollow Club. Funds raised will be distributed by the Avon Foundation to outstanding organizations in the Charlotte area.
Click here to register for the CSP team and to learn more about the event. Click on “Participate”, then “Register & Join a Team.” The team name is “Charlotte Smarty Pants”, click on this. Scroll down to bottom of page and click on “Join Team.” Then enter team password “smartypants” and join there as a walker. Cost is $25 for the 18-hole walk if you register before April 22, or $35 the day of the walk. Children under 12 are free.
Children and collapsible/umbrella strollers are welcome – although it would probably be easier and most enjoyable if you leave the kids at home, unless they can walk 5 miles on their own. This event is rain or shine. Check-in begins at 3:30pm at Forest Hill Church (7224 Park Road). Look for our brand new Smarty tent (you won’t miss the pink and green) and wear your Smarty CSP colors so we can blanket Quail Hollow with CSP support! Note: you MUST check in at Forest Hill Church and take the shuttles. Walkers and spectators are not permitted to drive directly to the Quail Hollow Club and no drop-offs. The 18-hole walk starts at 6:00p. Walkers must check in no later than 30 minutes prior to their start time. Shuttles will be provided from Forest Hill Church. Transport to the golf course will take approximately 10 minutes. Please allow sufficient time for arrival, registration, and transportation to the event.
Also, bring cash if you’d like to buy our super cute Smarty Pink & Green CSP t-shirts. We’re selling them for $15 at the event. We will also have our Smarty partner, Elise Redmond with Cookies for a Cause selling her fabulous Hot Tops Bottle Cap necklaces, key fobs and more – all proceeds will go to the Avon Foundation cause.
See you on the course tomorrow!
