Following is a fabulous home organizing idea from a loyal Arbor Construction Group customer, Kathy Taylor, who couldn’t be happier with the results of her latest project, a locker system:

I was over at a friend’s house, struggling through pull-ups on a bar inside her house looking into her “mudroom” when I saw the lockers that her husband had built for her five children. It was such a great idea to organize the jackets, backpacks, shoes (especially!!), and it was right inside the garage door, as they would come in from school. Brilliant!

I, as a mom of four, HAD to have this in my life! I only had a small coat rack, and no one at 7:30am on the mad rush out the door could manage to find a matching pair of shoes or a coat! AAGGGHH…

So I spoke to Brian Macuga, owner of Arbor Construction, and he whipped up perfect plans for my locker system. I adjusted what I had seen, by adding cabinets at the top for more storage. It took less than a week for me to receive a quote back. (Only a few days to convince my husband how necessary this was!) And in less than a week, they started and completed my lockers.

This system has made the world of difference in my family. The girls get “demerits” if they don’t put their shoes/backpacks/jackets away right when they get home from school, and the morning madness isn’t so bad now. My husband and I also have cubbies for our shoes and coats! This is a wonderful system, and I recommend it to any moms who have had the same struggles each morning that I did. You will love it!!
