Help your ‘lil Smarty Pants get even smarter! Music lessons have been scientifically proven to stimulate brain activity and Francis Music Studio can get you started! They offer a “no cost, no obligation meet and greet” for you to see the studio and meet Linda Francis, the instructor. Start your elementary student (or yourself!) in weekly private piano lessons. For students age nine and up, they also offer flute lessons.
Music lessons are a great Christmas gift idea, too! No need to invest in that grand piano yet. Just purchase a mid-sized keyboard for under the tree and call Francis Music Studio to set up a weekly time for January lessons. Smarty parents, don’t leave yourself out of the fun! Francis Music Studio enjoys teaching adult students who still have dreams of learning to play.
Lessons are thirty-minute weekly sessions that allow students to achieve at their own pace.
Students will learn familiar tunes as well as new song material. Different styles of music such as classical, pop, folk, jazz and blues are explored after the first year of instruction is completed. The fundamentals of reading music are taught according to the age and developmental level of the student.
Lessons for younger beginners are filled with a variety of activities including singing, hand jive, and playing duets with the teacher.
Linda Francis of Francis Music Studio is a certified North Carolina professional educator. She graduated with honors from Taylor University of Indiana and earned a Bachelor of Music Education with emphasis in piano and flute. She also received her certificate in the Kodaly method of music teaching from Seattle Pacific University. She has over seventeen years of experience in teaching privately as well as in the traditional classroom. Her laid-back personality puts students at ease and helps them thrive in the private lesson environment.
Some of Linda’s thoughts on teaching—
“In each lesson, I work to create moments of success so that large accomplishments can be made in the future. Small successes inspire and motivate students to continue on into more difficult levels of music.”
“When we take lessons on an instrument we must remember that we are not just learning to play the instrument— we are also learning how to read music. This is HUGE! It is like learning another language. Learning to read can then be translated to any instrument or the voice.”
Francis Music Studio is located in the beautiful residential community of Raintree just off of Ballantyne Commons Parkway. Stonecrest, Promenade and Arboretum shopping centers are just five minutes away. An extra bonus– get your errands done while your student has his/her music lesson!
