Hi Smarty Mom’s & Dad’s! A tiny school in South Charlotte is currently in the running to win big dollars through Kohl’s Cares Facebook contest. You see, Kohl’s department stores, in honor of their 10th anniversary is giving away a total of $10,000,000 to the top 20 schools who can attain the most votes on Facebook. This means 20 schools across the country will win $500,000 each! The Charlotte Jewish Day School, with enrollment of only 118 students, is currently the only school in Charlotte on the leader board and the only North Carolina school in the top 20.
So how is this possible? It’s truly a case study in perseverance, commitment and the power of social network marketing. What began as a long-shot with school staff, parent volunteers and alumni, has grown into a true community effort with support from local businesses, media & the greater Charlotte community. Parents have put in 6-8 hours a day asking for votes at UNC-Charlotte, the Southpark Mall, and Barnes & Noble, they have gone door-to-door with lap top computers, Twittered, and created YouTube videos.
The contest ends this week on September 3rd at midnight. Please help the Charlotte Jewish Day School bring home a win for Charlotte! To vote, go to www.votecjds.com while logged on to Facebook and follow the steps. Each Facebook user gets 20 votes to use and you can vote up to five times for one school.
Thank you!
