Hello Smarties! It is the end of June (can you believe it?) and that brings the 4th of July! The weekend is full of activities to celebrate our nation’s Independence. A Year with Frog and Toad

Come decorate your bikes, scooters and wagons with 4th of July items provided by Matthews Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resource Department. Then join us in the Peoples Parade, a non-motorized parade from Matthews Station St. to Stumptown Park. The evening will be capped off with a performance by “Too Much Sylvia”.

The US Airways Family Fun Festival kicks off the evening with sack races, giant inflatable slides, watermelon eating and tug of war contests. Grab a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors on site! A spectacular fireworks show also kicks off in the evening so bring your blanket and get a spot on the lawn. This free festival is alcohol-free and features plenty of parking nearby.
