The light at the end of the tunnel…It is August, which means the start of school is just around the corner. I have loved this summer but the first day of school can’t arrive fast enough. Tricycle Music Fest 2008 concludes with FREE concerts by Frances England. Noted as one of the freshest voices in kindie rock, Frances England originally created Fascinating Creatures as a fundraiser for her son’s preschool and never thought that anyone outside of her own circle of family and friends would hear it. But thanks to the Internet, the power of word-of-mouth and some great reviews, the CD began making its way into people’s homes across the country and as far away as Europe, Asia, and Australia. PANTHERS FOOTBALL returns to Bank of America Stadium for the first time in 2008 at Fan Fest, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, on Saturday, August 2. All fans are invited, and admission is free. The day will feature a road race, activities at the Catwalk and Fun Zone and events inside the stadium and will culminate with a full Panthers practice.

The Fancy Nancy Soiree was full and they are not planning another until December! i would LOVE for my child to be able to have a Fancy Nancy Soiree… If there are any other SmartyMoms who have daughters who LOVE Fancy Nancy, let me know and maybe we can find a bookstore or even another public library willing to put together a Soiree for our Fancy Nancys! By they way… I was planning on driving from Huntersvile to South park to participate, so I am looking for something closer….
