Can you believe that this is the last weekend in June? So far, so good! (Fingers are crossed as I write this.) There are some fun and new things going on this weekend and they are all very family oriented, hope you will enjoy some of them.
A special storytime with author Helen Kimbrough reading and singing from her new book “Ocean Waves & Other Tales.” This is the perfect book for the summer and comes with its own musical CD. Cost is free.
Learn about Charlotte’s rich gold mining history and pan for gold at the miner’s cabin! Then tour the plantation house and grounds, and visit rare breeds of historic animals. Cost: $5-$6.
SouthPark Mall, Center Court
Parents and kids together can delve into building their culinary skills with exciting activities including hands-on fun with food, manners and kitchen safety tips, giveaways and a charity food drive. Cost is $5.
If you would like a daytrip or even an overnight and have kids that love Bob the Builder and trains – Bob is appearing at Tweetsie Railroad this weekend.
