This is a Mommy and Me Workshop and your child needs to be two by 10/15/2007.
Get up-close to and learn about reptiles. Skills: classifying, gross motor, tactile discrimination, fine motor, concept development. Cost is $18 per workshop for members, $22 per workshop for non-members.

All elementary and middle school students and parents are invited to the first family fitness day. Upon arrival each family will receive a treasure map that will lead them to interactive stations.

Meck Dec Celebration

Bring the family and enjoy a catered barbeque dinner at the Hezekiah Alexander Homesite while you listen to colonial music, or relax in the shade while children play historic games. Tour the Hezekiah Alexander Home and visit the kitchen to learn about life in slavery during colonial times, and how they would have been affected by the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence. The Declaration will be read for the guests, and a brief presentation will introduce the various sites and organizations, highlighting each for their contributions to Mec Dec. It is a free event, and museum admission will be free all day on Saturday, May 17, 2008. There will be open house home tours during the event, in lieu of our normal daily guided tours. A catered barbeque dinner will be available for $10 per adult, $5 per child. Advanced reservations are encouraged.
8th Annual University City Street Party

A celebration of the diversity of the University City area, the event will feature displays and performances of various countries, food from local restaurants and retailers and activities for children. Inflatable bouncers, face painting and activities that encourage healthy spirit, mind and body for all are also part of the agenda.
