The Charlotte Mothers of Multiples (CMOMs) Spring/Summer ’08 Clothing & Equipment Sale is here this weekend. This is my favorite consignment sale! Unlike most consignment sales in our area, this is a sale that you don’t have to be a seller to get good stuff. My first few experiences with consignment sales left me baffled. I always went to the public sale because I never consigned clothes due to my growing family. Big mistake! I never found a thing that I wanted and this is because it was all purchased by the sellers. At most consignment sales, you must be a seller to get into the preview sale and this is where all the good stuff is. At the CMOMs sale, there is such a massive quantity of inventory (hello, how many sales warrant a building at Metrolina Expo?!). They can’t possibly sell out of all of the good items. There is even a high end section with smocked and trunk show sale items. Sometimes it’s picked over by Saturday, but sometimes not. It’s worth a shot. Also, you just can’t beat the toy selection. Every time I go, I say to myself – I don’t need a thing. Famous last words to my hubby! And then I drive home with a carful and can’t even see out of my rear window!
