(Photo from last year Christmas morning)
I have had a few people ask me what Santa brings these days. One big gift? Do all the toys come from Santa and then what comes from Mom & Dad?
In our world, Santa usually only brings one big gift and small stocking stuffers. It’s the one big thing that they ask for while sitting on his lap, the first thing that comes out of their mouths and it’s all they think about when writing their letters to him. That’s the one. Somehow with all of their aunties and uncles and grandparents and friends and teachers and everyone else in their lives, they still manage to get a room full of presents on Christmas morning. It’s for this reason that I stick with one gift from Santa. I also make sure there is a gift from mommy & daddy and one from brothers & sisters so they understand that we all love the gift of giving, not just Santa. OK, and it also gives me a little extra power over them during the Christmas season since I’m a gift-giver too! You could also argue that this could potentially lengthen the amount of time that they will believe in Santa. I can remember the day when I asked my mom why there weren’t any presents under the tree from her. I remember thinking that Santa was way cool and mom and dad, not so much!
What are your Christmas family gift-giving traditions? Please share!

This would be a great blog to addhttp://www.elfontheshelf.com/I was just given it as a gift. Being the mom of a 19 month old and a 3.5 year old, I was looking for traditions to start. We have been enjoying it so far. ..If you aren’t familiar with it, go to the website and click the link “The Tradition” to see what it’s about.
