Looking for fun things to do while your kids are out of school? Here is a fabulous idea for all ages. Try outdoor ice skating at WBT’s Holiday on Ice, tucked away in Uptown Charlotte’s most scenic park, the Green located off College Street. This is the area’s only outdoor ice skating rink. We took the fam last year and really enjoyed it. I would say that you could do this with children ages 3 and up, as long as you have a coordinated parent who can ice skate, unlike myself! Last time, Ansley had to guide me around the rink! It gets pretty crowded on Friday and Saturday nights but don’t let that discourage you from going. Make an evening out of it and get some yummy pizza at Fuel Pizza right at the rink.
Holiday on Ice will run until Sunday, January 6th. Admission is $7 and skate rentals are $3.
Regular Hours:
Wednesday – Friday, 5-10pm
Saturday, 11am-10pm
Sunday, 11am-7pm
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Special Hours when school is out:
Open everyday from December 21 until January 1, 11am-10pm
Christmas Eve, 11am-10pm
Christmas Day, 3pm-10pm
New Year’s Eve, 11am-10pm
New Year’s Day, 11am-10pm
We’re planning on taking the whole family again this year. I will probably sit out with the twins and enjoy my hot chocolate. Pretty sure I can’t handle two little monkeys on ice!
